Case Study: Vertical Integration

Qualification aims

This case study is based on concepts, methods and tools of the module "Integration of Technical and Business Information Systems". In addition, solutions of other modules can be integrated.

The focus lies on the application of methods and tools of the module "Integration of Technical and Business Information Systems" to realistic sample problems, which are derived from actual and current research problems.

The case study is carried out in a small team of three to five students.

The case study team has to

  • understand the technical or scientific problem,
  • identify relevant previous work in the literature,
  • develop solution approaches,
  • verify and evaluate the solution approaches,
  • select and realizse the best approach,
  • write a report that describes the methods and the approach used, and
  • present the work in a seminar.
